The graduate of the Dnepropetrovsk Mechanical Technical School (1966), Department of Physics of the Dnepropetrovsk State University (1972), and Institute of Patent Business (Moscow, 1974). The researcher with the Institute of Rheumatism of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR (Moscow, 1972–1975). From 1975, he has seen service in the Committee for State Security (KGB) of the USSR — Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia. At present, he is the Head of a Department in the Institute of Criminalistics of the FSB Center of Special-Purpose Technologies, Colonel. Ph. D. (Psychology, 1990), Senior Researcher (1999), D. Sc. (Law, 2002), Professor of the Chair of Criminalistics of the Academy of FSB of Russia (2003). Member of the American Polygraph Association (2005). Mr. Kholodny is the author of four books, one invention and over 130 publications, of which the majority is dedicated to theoretical and practical aspects of application of the psychophysiological «lie detection» method in the law-enforcement practice. |
Vasily V. GULIN, born on 16 March 1959. |
The graduate of the Leningrad Higher Military-Topographic Command School (1980), Humanitarian Academy of the Armed Forces (1993), polygraph courses of the Institute of Criminalistics of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia (1998), and polygraph courses of the Maryland Institute of Criminal Justice (1998). From 1980 through 1993, Mr. Gulin served in the Armed Forces of Russia (USSR) where he used to occupy various duty positions. From 1993, he has seen service in the Ministry of Security — FSB of Russia. At present, he is the Deputy Head of a Department of the FSB Criminalistics Institute, Colonel, and Member of the American Polygraph Association (2005). Mr. Gulin has published a number of works on theoretical and practical aspects of application of the psychophysiological «lie detection» method in the law-enforcement practice.

Alexandra G. TOLCHENKINA, born on 3 December 1969. |
| The graduate of the Russian State Medical University (1994), polygraph courses of the Maryland Institute of Criminal Justice (1998), and polygraph courses of the Institute of Criminalistics of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia (2000). From 1996 through 1999 she worked in a research institute of the Russian Ministry of Defense, from 2000 — with the FSB of Russia. At present, Ms. Tolchenkina is the Section Head of a Department of the FSB Criminalistics Institute, Captain. |
